It’s true what they say – nothing beats celebrating Christmas in the Philippines. As early as September, malls already play songs by the iconic Jose Mari Chan, some establishments start putting up decor and some persons actually start buying Christmas gifts for their loved ones. Earlier today, I saw a group celebrating their Christmas party (complete with red and green costumes at that). And this goes on until early February. Hehe. At this point, I’m sure everyone is already planning Christmas get-togethers and kris kringle themes.
Of course, during this time, we shouldn’t lose sight of the real reason for the season – God’s love in the form of His son Jesus Christ. As we commemorate the birthday of our Savior, let us remember that it is His love that makes it possible for us to love the people around us, and it is part of our mission and purpose to spread the love of Christ to them.
We hold our Christmas mini-sessions every year as a celebration of love, relationships and family. At this time when we are consumed by busyness and playtime becomes a luxury, we really encourage bonding time with family through these sessions. It has been a joy hosting these mini-sessions every year for the past 4 years – seeing families grow and kids growing up (it’s like a fun family reunion hehe), witnessing family members genuinely enjoying their time with each other, and ultimately giving them a venue to play and enjoy themselves.
