Inocencio Family – Styled and Lifestyle Family Portrait Session
Has it really been 10 months since my last update??
I have a growing backlog of photos that haven’t seen the light of day, but my heart can’t bear to leave them unblogged (if there is such a term), so I’m posting photos from a portrait session I did early last year with the Inocencio family. The mom, Jean, is another friend from high school. Jean and I never became classmates in high school, but I became friends with her and the rest of the family after we took photos of their firstborn, Kuya Aidan, years ago. Thanks to photography, I’ve developed a lot of new friendships and re-established old ones. 🙂
The first time I took photos of the Inocencio family, their second child, Martee wasn’t born yet. Kuya Aidan was less than one year old, barely spoke, and had very little hair (if any). On our next shoot, I was delighted to see Aidan, much taller and more hyper than ever. He talked and joked A LOT – and in straight Tagalog at that (which, for some odd reason, is not common anymore among Filipino kids). He was also into the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and he has assigned each family member to be one of the turtles. He said he’s Michaelangelo 😀
I normally ask clients to choose between a lifestyle portrait session or a styled one, but Jean preferred to do both. We started early and took photos inside the house, before the kids dressed up. For the styled shoot, another high school friend, Nina Lazaro, did the setup. (I love how our shoots sometimes turn into mini-reunions hehe). We had a lemonade stand and a vintage back-to-school setup. Jean brought a Radio Flyer wagon to cap off the vintage look. Took some photos too while the kids were on break. They particularly loved the set of blocks Nina brought. The photos of the kids fighting over the blocks have been omitted from this set. Haha.
Thank you so much Jean, Dic, Kuya Aidan and Martee for trusting us to take photos of your family. 🙂 And special thanks to Nina Lazaro for the lovely setup! Til our next portrait session 😀
